Dr. Albert Ladislau is an excellent doctor with much expertise in spinal care and surgery. I was so worried to have surgery to the spine and in finding the right doctor. Dr. Ladislau answers all questions in great detail, understandable to the patient and explains each area of surgery and recovery. I was comfortable going in to this procedure and I now have my strength back even better than before the surgery. I would not choose anyone else to touch any area of my spine but this doctor. I found much trust in him and his proficiency.

“In 2012, I fell a couple of times and messed up my lower back. The doctor I visited in Germany told me my surgery was out of the question, as it would be too dangerous. Got a second opinion a few months later here in San Antonio while visiting my daughters and was told the same. The doctor in San Antonio fitted me with a back brace. Now in 2016 I went to an orthopedic surgeon because when I walked I had that pain going down my leg and it was getting worse by the month. I thought my artificial hip was causing the pain. To my surprise, it was not my hip, it was my spine causing that pain and the orthopedist referred me to Dr. Albert, the best referral I ever got, because Dr. Albert told me that he could help and he did so on 25 Aug 2016. I’m still wearing a heavy duty brace but now I have no more pain when walking and I hope to stay pain free for the rest of my life. Going to this clinic is always a good experience, the staff is very nice and helpful.”

Teresa, Patrick and Steven were very knowledgeable and patient. They played a huge role in my recovery. I will shamefully admit, a little while after I discharged from therapy I got lazy and stopped doing my exercises and I could feel a big difference is my pain level and frequency. I have seen both Dr Albert for my back and Dr Zavala for my left wrist. They are kind compassionate doctors and very competent. I had a neurostimulator put in my back after over 14 years of constant pain. And Dr Albert took care of me. Still checks in to make sure I’m ok. And Dr Zavala did carpal tunnel surgery on my left wrist. And the scars are so small you cannot even see the one on the hand. He is a very caring doctor. The staff for both doctors are warm and friendly. And worry and care about you. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Highly recommended!!

Wow!!! Dr. Zavala and his staff are absolutely amazing. I have never had such a caring medical team in my life. I was in a boating accident and went to the ER where they did x-rays on my back indicating I had Fractured my L1. Of course it was on Labor Day so my PCP doctor was closed. I was able to see him on Wednesday and due to the severity of the pain he called Dr. Zavala and they were able to get me in on Thursday at 10 am. We’re I was seen early and did more x-rays, before the dr proceeded any further he sent me for an MRI which was done by 12:15 and I was back in his office by 1:00. Thank god he sent me for the MRI because they discovered 2 more fractures. The Dr. did a procedure on my L1 where you cement the fracture. I was out is surgery and in the car with my back brace by 4:00! I returned today a week later feeling better so we are going to do the same procedure on the T12 next week. Hopefully this will help with the remaining pain in my upper back and then we will figure out the final fracture which will possibly require pins. I am so lucky to have Dr. Zavala taking care of me. His staff everyone.

I had surgery with Dr. Zavala for severe spinal cord damage and severe nerve damage in my neck. He is an ace in my book. I had an extensive back surgery this past July, repairing the S1 to the L2 discs. Dr Zavala and his team made the experience easier to deal with when normally any back surgery can be one of the most painful things you can go through. I recently found out that I had 2 spinal fractures at the L1 and L2 which landed me in the ER. Again Dr Zavala and his team took wonderful care of me. This was on a Sunday afternoon and he dropped everything to come and meet with me to discuss the issue, what to expect, what his plans were to correct the problem and to make sure I received the medical attention I needed. The pain prior to the surgery was so extreme, to where I could barely walk. But now, after having the procedure done, I feel such relief, and I am so grateful to Dr Zavala for what he has done to help me through a very difficult issue. He is the most compassionate and caring doctor I have ever dealt with, and I highly recommend him.

Yesterday before my appointment I was in so much pain in my neck and my back just throbbing pain so I was very depressed and I felt very helpless. First thing when you walk into the office you get greeted by the girls in the front which are so sweet and so nice. Secondly the young lady that takes you back to the doctors waiting room was very helpful and understanding. She wrote down everything I told her without even hesitation. And lastly Mr. Mendoza, he just makes my day he listens to everything I am complaining about in a caring manner. He addresses and advises me in all my issues. It’s very hard to find a doctor that does all that nowadays. He is one in 1 million. Even though he is young He reminds me of the old school doctors from back in the day. The doctors that would listen to you and care about your health and well being. They made me feel better just by being so nice and understanding but they did help me with my pain by giving me a shot and some referrals to physical therapy as well. I am so happy that I found this clinic. I wouldn’t change them for the world! Thank you for your professionalism and understanding to our pain!! One of THE best experiences ever. Doctor’s Zavala and Cohen are fantastic. The PT team is especially great, they find the issue of pain and work on it until YOU’RE satisfied. Dr. Zavala worked on my lower spine and has me walking upright again. His staff and faculty are fantastic and very caring. They listen to your needs and concerns as well as the families.

I cannot say enough great things about this office! My experience is with Dr. Albert and his team. They treated me so well and had such dramatic results that my husband sought treatment for an SI joint issue he had been suffering with for years, requiring radial ablation twice a year. Dr. Zavala treated him and he’s been able to avoid the ablation procedure for the longest time in six years! My daughter has a cervical disc issue from playing cello for over 20 years and the pain management practice and physical therapy has relieved most of her pain as well. It is frightening when you get the news that there is something wrong with your spine. Everyone in this office understands that fact and treats you with an amount of compassion and empathy that alone brings you comfort from the time you enter the office. I wish no one ever needed these services; but, if you do, get here as fast as you can! You will be happy to get back to living a full life!
